Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1) Kaylee saw–and heard–her first fireworks yesterday. She loved them! There was a little noncommittal crying in reaction to the noise in the beginning, but she got over that quickly. Lots of ‘wows’ and her little mouth hanging open. When it was over, she looked all over the sky for more. It was even more impressive as she had not taken an afternoon nap and it was over an hour past her bedtime!

2) I am trying to make my many work-in-progress projects into finished projects. This is clearing a lot of space on my sewing table.

3) I am currently so into Greek salad. I don’t make it fancy–I just use chopped romaine, tomatoes, black olives, Greek salad dressing, and a generous sprinkle of feta. It is so light and summery. I may have been a bit overzealous though and bought my feta, tomatoes, and romaine at Sam’s Club. I am going to be eating quite a bit of salad. (I just looked up Greek salad. Apparently it technically does not include lettuce. I think my salad is rather far from an authentic Greek salad. If you find the subject of Greek salad riveting, click on the picture to read all about it on Wikipedia.)

4) Kaylee had spaghetti for lunch and one of the dogs has pinkish streaks on his ears now. I am assuming this is from the sharing that goes on during mealtimes at our house. Managing to get sauce on both ears is kind of impressive though.

I love any kinds of salad. :D They’re so yummy and defintiely summery. I hate cooking too much when it’s so hot out!

My kids cry at fireworks too, but they get over it quickly and enjoy them!

I’m participating in Monday Miscellany too, if you wanna check it out. http://theartsymom.tk
