There has been a good amount of sewing going on around here lately. I have been working on bags and even used my serger a teeny bit. In between bags, I made myself a skirt.
It is a simple elastic waistband skirt based on the tutorial from Freshly Picked, but I was a little overzealous with my elastic stretching and it is a bit big on me.
But that’s OK. You see, it will fit soon. I need more things with elastic waistbands…I’m pregnant! (I think the extra stretching of the elastic was reactionary to not being able to button my jeans that morning.) So the extra naps are not just a summer vacation luxury, but a first trimester necessity. Kaylee and my days consist mostly of playing, snacking, and sleeping. It is a nice way to spend the summer.
We are totally thrilled and so excited for Kaylee to be a big sister. We have a ways to go yet, but so far I have been feeling good. And the air conditioner is now in the dining room (sewing room) window, so quality of life around here has vastly improved!
